i loved these books and i still think my favorite is probably the first one. the others delve a little more into pullman’s philosophy that sometimes takes over the story to its detriment.

I read the first one back when it was still “Northern Lights” and had this beautiful cover illustration of the golden compass with details of the inscriptions/pictures. Plotwise though, it’s tie between Amber Spyglass and the first book.
