Reading the game: all about Persona

Atlus is giving away copies of the new Persona 3: Official Design Works book to 25 lucky members of the Atlus Faithful. To enter, all you have to do is subscribe to their e-newsletter. Easy peasy!

The team at Atlus will pick winners on Monday, July 16, but anyone can buy the softcover art book from select retailers. It costs $39.99 (or less) and spans 144 pages.

Udon Entertainment, the publisher, is really cool. They sell all sorts of video game and comic/manga-related books. It looks like they’ll be putting out Persona 4: Official Design Works early next year.

The Shigenori Soejima Artworks SC paperback (160 pages and also from Udon) contains more of Shigenori Soejima’s artwork from the Persona series and other projects. He also worked on Catherine and the Trauma Center games — those are goodies, too.

Have you played any of these games, particularly Persona? My boyfriend bought me Persona 3 Portable awhile back. (Yes, I still tinker with my PSP.) They’re fun games, but a huge time sink. Fortunately Persona 4 Arena looks like a blast, and Arc System Works, the makers of my favorite 2D fighters, are developing it. They created Guilty Gear and Blazblue, and their games have a ton of personality.

How do you enjoy Persona in the Midnight Hour? Or are you totally lost by all this RPG talk?
